On September 7, Apple presented its new iPhone generation, which consists of a total of four models: iPhone 14, 14 plus, 14 Pro, and 14 Pro max. The two standard variants have experienced a rather small update compared to the iPhone-13- Models. The real innovations are in the PRO models, which only stand out from the predecessors, but also increase the differences from the normal models. So if you really want to have something new, you have to grab 14 Pro (Max) and leaf through at least 1,299 euros. Otherwise, an iPhone 13 is probably enough for you, which is now cheaper in the price comparison.
iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 14: These are the differences
iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max have these features on board, which both standard models have to do without:
- No more emergency: There is now “Dynamic Island” directly on the display
- Better camera: 48 megapixels with the high quality especially in poor lighting conditions
- Apple A16: The standard models must continue to work with the A15 from the iPhone 13

iPhone 14 Pro vs. iPhone 14: The differences in detail
The exclusive display features:
Even in the Pro models, users can use a high refresh rate of up to 120 Hertz. Nothing changes with the new generation, the standard models remain at 60 Hertz. This is a cheek in view of the high price compared to the Android competition. After all, the iPhone 13 Pro is currently cheaper if the 14 Pro is too expensive for you. For the first time and with that, we have to finally say “-Apple also donates an Always-on function to its iPhone. Even if the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro max. Only with the iPhone 15 also get the standard models 120 Hertz and possibly also Always-on.
No more emergency:
The very dominant emergency of the past few years on the upper edge of the iPhones disappears on the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). Instead, there is now a “Dynamic Island”. The elongated recess is located directly on the display and is covered with a software solution that offers additional features. So you see calls there, the album that is being played, or other current events. Tap on it, and you will receive more information and can end calls or pause the playing of a song. And from every app. In fact, this is a very exciting feature.
A16 Bionic:
While all new iPhone models have been equipped with the newly developed chip in recent years, Apple only installs the A16 Bionic in the iPhone 14 Pro and per max. In the iPhone 14 and 14 plus, however, the A15 Bionic is already known from the iPhone-13 series. So you can only experience the real leap with the performance with the more expensive variants. Basically, we have to mention at this point that the A15 chip also offers a particularly high performance and brings more power than all Android cell phones.
Camera:
Apple increases the camera sensor by 65 percent, it now offers a maximum of 48 megapixels. The camera still snaps photos with 12 megapixels as before, but 4 pixels become one. As a result, the pixels contain a lot more image and light information, which significantly increases quality- especially in poor lighting conditions. Most competitions in their flagship models also use this technology. With the iPhone 14 (plus) you continue to take pictures with a maximum of 12 megapixels. We are very excited about the test of how high the difference in quality will be in practice. After all, the front camera of the standard models now also offers autofocus.
Storage:
If you want the greatest possible memory, you have to use 14 Pro. 128, 256, and 512 GB can be selected in all models, but iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max also offer the 1 TB option. Apple can also be paid for it properly – the most expensive iPhone (14 Pro Max) costs 2,099 euros in this case.
Conclusion
Because of its few changes to the predecessor iPhone 13, we cannot recommend the normal iPhone 14. What’s new? Well, the satellite feature. But you can currently only use that in the USA and Canada. If you are looking for a large iPhone with 6.7 inches, you would have to use the iPhone 14, Max. And this is a whole corner more expensive than the iPhone 13 Pro, which still has 120 Hertz. Basically, the standard iPhone-14 simply lacks the top features that justify the high price of over 1,000 euros, there are competitive devices that offer significantly more money.
If you are looking for real innovations, you have to buy the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). This is the only way to get an Always-on display, the new notch called “Dynamic Island” with cool functionality, and the Apple A16, the most powerful chip. There is only one problem: The starting price is 1,299 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro and goes up to 2,099 euros for the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 1 TB.
