What is the battery performance of the iPhone14 models?
The design of the new iPhone 14 has been speculated for the past few months. However, details on performance have remained largely secret. However, the industry insider “Shrimpapplepro” shared a post that seemed to provide information about the battery capacities of all iPhone 14 models. While three of the models should only get an insignificant improvement, there should actually be no change in the iPhone 14 Pro. In this case, the question would have arisen whether the purchase of the Pro models was actually worthwhile. The contribution was deleted. As “Forbes” reported, this is often a sign of the correctness of the leaked details because correct data is treated much more sensitively.
In fact, the battery of the new smartphone is only minimally better than that of its predecessor. With the iPhone 14, you can now reproduce videos for 20 hours (instead of 19) or listen to music for up to 80 hours (the iPhone 13 was 75). For comparison: The iPhone 14 Plus offers up to 100 hours of audio playback, the iPhone 14 Pro only comes to 75 hours and the iPhone 14 Pro Max manages 95 hours.
When does the iPhone 14 appear?
Apple’s flagships-the iPhone series-are usually presented in autumn. The iPhone 14 is no exception. After numerous rumors about the equipment of the new smartphone, there were also several tips for the release date. The iHacktu Ileaks known for its Apple Leaks had announced on Twitter that Apple will present the iPhone 14 on September 13, 2022. The insider Mark Gurman, which was always well informed about Apple issues, again reported at Bloomberg that iPhone 14 and Co. should be presented on September 7, 2022.
In fact, Apple invited to the keynote unusually early this year. The event took place on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at 7:00 p.m.
That is why we now also know that the iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max will be released on September 16, 2022. For the iPhone 14 Plus we have to be patient until October 7, 2022.

Plus instead of mini: There are these iPhone 14 variants
As already suspected, there are no iPhone 14 mini. However, four iPhone 14 models were introduced to us: the iPhone 14, plus, pro, and per max. The models come in two different screen diagonals. This is what the iPhone 14 series looks like:
- iPhone 14: 6.1-inch display
- iPhone 14 Plus: 6.7-inch display
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6.1-inch display
- iPhone 14 Pro max: 6.7-inch display
How do iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 pro differ?
We do not expect groundbreaking differences between the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro. The camera technology of the PRO models mainly sets off from the standard variants. Both pro variants have a camera with a 48-megapixel sensor. The iPhone 14, on the other hand, has to get by with a 12-megapixel camera. The pro-iPhones are also equipped with an Always-on display.
What innovations does the design of the iPhone 14 bring?
The design of the iPhone 14 – and also the designs of the other models from the series – hardly differ from the predecessor. Do you know what the iPhone 13 looks like? Then you also have a fairly precise idea of the iPhone 14. Most of the time it differs from the new color violet.
After all, there is a small optical change in the Pro models of the iPhone 14: the well-known notch has disappeared on the front. It has been replaced by a pill-shaped neckline, which in addition to the front webcam also contains the Face ID camera and adapts to the currently used app.
How much can the display of the iPhone 14?
You can only get an always-on display that can also display information on the lock screen on the lock screen. Thanks to iOS 16, there is also a new lock screen for the other models. The metal frame is still angular and the back is made of glass. The notch for the front camera with Face ID remains the same on the iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus. Otherwise, you can look forward to a Super Retina XDR display on all devices. In the Pro models, the doctorate technology is added with adaptive refresh rates up to 120 Hertz.

It is the eternal dilemma of all iPhone users: You always have to take a different charging cable with you for your Apple devices than for other technology. The iPad shows a trend toward the USB-C connection, but the iPhone 14 still loads with a Lightning cable.
What cameras have the iPhone 14 series?
The resolution of the selfie camera of the iPhone-14 devices remains at 12 megapixels, but now for the first time, the iPhone-there is autofocus which also improves the portrait mode. The main camera and the ultra-wake angle camera with the already known 12 megapixels can be found on the back.
The Pro models offer a new 48-megapixel camera and also have a Tele lens. But also on the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, the cameras are equipped with better sensitivity to light. The main camera also has optical image stabilization. And in the new action mode, you can shoot particularly liquid videos without wobbles, movements, and shocks.
Does the iPhone 14 have satellite telephony?
Like the new Apple Watch 8, the iPhone 14 models also have the “Crash Detection” feature. Sensors register if you had an accident and put an emergency call. For emergency calls outside of the mobile phone network coverage, there is also “Emergency SOS via satellite”, for which a satellite phone is actually necessary. The service is initially only available in the USA and Canada and for the time being two years free of charge.
What features does the iPhone 14 have?
Even if the current and upcoming iPhones can do a lot, Apple does not fulfill all the wishes of the users this year. According to 9to5mac, some functions are still held back. We will have to wait for these features for better or worse:
- iPhone without connections: rumors about an iPhone without connections appeared last year, but the wireless load option via Magsafe still remains an option and no compulsion.
- iPhone with USB-C connection: Apple will also have to rely on USB-C in the future. Already in 2023-with, with the iPhone, 15-the changeover could take place, but the iPhone 14 still has a Lightning connection.
- A foldable iPhone: Samsung recently presented the fourth generation of foldable smartphones. Experts suspect that Apple could jump on the train at the earliest in 2025. For the next few years, the company will probably not yet dare to have flexible and foldable screens.
- iPhone with a hidden front camera: In some Android smartphones, the front camera is already hiding below the display. But the quality of the photos is still too bad.
- iPhone with periscope lens: Apple is said to work with high pressure on a periscope lens, but the space-saving construction, which enables a real optical zoom, is only expected in 2023.

Since the iPhone Mini is eliminated, an indirect price increase is coming up. Because now that this is the entry-level model compared to the iPhone Mini, users have to pay more if they want a new iPhone at all.
