The eyewitness who captured on unintentional video the moment a woman was launched into the air by a rollercoaster has stated that he and his family have been traumatized by the event.
According to Jordan, whose last name was omitted, only a small number of people witnessed what actually occurred at the Melbourne Royal Show on Sunday night. Jordan made this claim in an interview with 7NEWS.com.au.

While his sister Chloe and his partner Alex were riding the Rebel Coaster in the front carriage, he was photographing the trip with his camera. The ride was going around a loop.
When they did, however, the ride struck Shylah Rodden, who was 26 years old at the time, and it carried her for a few meters in the air before she finally collapsed.
Jordan was a witness to the events that immediately preceded the incident, and he claims that he “hasn’t slept since.”

He explained, “Both my sister and my boyfriend were called up to go on the ride in the past, but there was only one seat, and they waited for the next one.”
Because of the line, my other sister was watching with me, and we had to wait for almost fifteen minutes before we could see them.
During the time that we were standing around waiting, we noticed something fall from one of the attractions, but we had no idea what it was. A little over ten minutes later, the ride that my partner and sister were on completed its circuit.
“We noticed a lady in a restricted location when she shouldn’t have been there. She was told to leave by a worker, but we weren’t able to hear the complete dialogue; the worker simply told her that she shouldn’t be there. That person began to leave, and I didn’t give it much thought because they were leaving.
After that, he brought his focus back to the ride that his sister and her companion were taking, and he started recording it.
Then, according to him, a terrible event transpired.

“Everything happened so swiftly but in such a sluggish manner. I was startled to see someone being picked up, and at the same time, I was thinking, “f***, my sister, my partner.”
A woman can be seen in the video footage that was taken by accident that captured the disaster. She is standing beside the ride’s tracks.
She seems to be looking down, as she seems oblivious to the fact that the carriage and its occupants are yelling their way toward her.
Jordan stated that the woman had begun to lean down after placing her foot in the space between the posts.
According to what my sister and my boyfriend saw, it appeared as though someone had tried to block it by throwing themselves in front of it.
“However, it is plain to see that she knelt down to pick something up. I’m not sure if it was a phone or what, but she was so intent on retrieving it that she completely missed out on the journey.”
According to him, she remained silent even after being struck.
He responded by saying, “I didn’t hear her scream.”
“I believe that the shouts that I heard originated from people who were watching the scene. It happened in such a flash!

Jordan stated that he had consented to speak out in order to bring awareness to an unseen side of the event, which he referred to as the first responders.
Within a few minutes of the tragedy taking place, the area where it occurred was blocked off, and members of the Show staff and the police were talking to individuals.
Chloe and Alex, along with the other riders who were still on the route, were stranded there for a little under an hour.
However, in an effort to make them feel more at ease, personnel physically relocated them away from the steep incline they were on and onto a more level section of the track.
Jordan stated that although they were only up there for approximately 45 minutes, it may have seemed like hours to them. “I can see how it might have felt like hours.”
According to him, the police were the first to arrive on the site and offered both counseling and information.
Jordan stated that the organization provided counseling, phone numbers to call, and other similar services.
“However, they basically informed us about what had been going on. They treated us with great courtesy and listened to all of our concerns.
“My hand was shaking as I tried to write my name at the bottom of my statement,” I said. “I was trying to sign my name at the bottom of my statement.” I’ve never been through anything like that before, and I truly pray that it never occurs to me again.
The tape that he captured, which he refers to as “fortunate or unlucky,” was given to the authorities so that they could examine it as part of their investigation into how the accident took place.
The decision was made by 7NEWS.com.au to refrain from publishing the whole footage.

After several days have passed since the tragedy, and Shylah’s condition has not improved.
Her loved ones report that in addition to multiple fractured bones, she also suffered a brain injury.
On Tuesday, the organizers of the Melbourne Royal Show released a statement in which they confirmed that WorkSafe had completed its examination of the attraction and given it the go-ahead to continue operating. The statement also stated that WorkSafe had given the ride the all-clear to restart operations.
A statement released by the organizers of the event stated that “the safety and well-being of our visitors to the Show continue to be our number one priority.”
“We adhere to stringent safety standards in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Victorian WorkSafe.” Every ride that is now available has been subjected to strict compliance examinations and has been found to have all of the necessary safety documents.
However, Rodden’s family expressed that they were “saddened and appalled” that the ride had returned to operation so soon after the occurrence.
Earlier, the CEO of the Melbourne Royal Show, Brad Jenkins, referred to it as a “tragic accident” and expressed his thoughts and prayers to the young woman’s loved ones and friends.
“It is a horrible accident, and from what we gather, there was a mobile phone at the base of the Rebel Coaster that she dropped on the ride, and she went back to reclaim the mobile phone,” he added. “There was a cell phone at the base of the Rebel Coaster that she dropped on the ride.”
“Unfortunately, she was fatally injured when the cart she was riding on came crashing down.
The ride is described as an extreme rollercoaster, which in general is a lot of fun; nonetheless, this was a horrible catastrophe that shouldn’t have happened.
He went on to say that the person operating the ride had years of experience and that there had been no problems with the equipment itself.
“This is an unfortunate accident, not a malfunction of a ride, so I can tell people that the rides are completely safe,” he added. “I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
When the family of Shylah Rodden saw the video of the moment she was hit by the rollercoaster, they reacted angrily.
