An incredible image by James showing the 10 craggy peaks that form the awe-inspiring Valley of the Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Alberta. Each one stands over 10,000ft (3,048m) tall. The road that James stood beside to take the photograph leads to the breathtaking Moraine Lake, which together with the peaks forms a scene that according to National Geographic is known by locals as the '20-dollar view' - because from 1969 to 1979 the lake and the mountain backdrop appeared on the back of the Canadian $20 bill

So, a lot has changed since we last saw you in March. The Stanley Cup was decided in Edmonton, between two southern teams. The words Bubble, Qualification Round, and Kraken entered our vocabularies. There have also been some changes to our default points scoring system. We’ve made improvements to increase the value of defensemen and goalies, while increasing scoring overall.

Skaters:

Goals (G) 2

Assists (A) 1

Power Play Points (PPP) .5

Short Handed Points (SHP) .5

Shots on Goal ( SOG) .1

Hits (HIT) .1

Blocked Shots (BLK) .5

Goaltenders:

Wins (W) 4

Goals Against (GA) -2

Saves (SV) .2

Shutouts (SO) 3

Overtime Losses (OTL) 1

This new system gives points for Saves (5 saves equals 1 point), and adds a point for an Overtime Loss. A goalie that is forced to save a lot of shots in the crease deserves the credit for keeping his team in the game.

Additionally, many of you were already using Hits and Blocks in your custom leagues, so we took the leap and added them to the default system. Blocks are worth more then Hits, since Hits are more common. Since defensemen are more likely to get blocks, the top defensemen will be just as valuable to your team as they are to theirs. We also add in bonuses for points scored on special teams, increasing scoring across your leagues.
