Welcome to Refinery29 Loves, the monthly news bulletin where you’ll find the best things to shop and see in fashion right now.
From our new favourite fashion podcast to an upcycled handbag launch and the chicest PJ collection we’ve seen yet, here’s what we’re loving in fashion this December.Audible Original Launches Fashioned Podcast
Now this is our kind of podcast. Audible has launched a new Original, Fashioned, hosted by Clara Amfo and fashion historian Amber Butchart, which will explore how cultural and social moments and movements have shaped fashion and style throughout history. From Mary Frith’s gender flipping to free-spirited flappers like Josephine Baker via zoot suits and rebellious denim, no stone is left unturned. That’s this month’s ear party sorted, then.
Fashioned is available to download now at Audible.Vestiaire Collective & By Far launch Future Collectibles
By Far, the international accessories label designed in Australia and handmade in Bulgaria using Italian leather, has made some of the most cult shoes and handbags of the past few years. With fans including Laura Harrier, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, you’ll have spotted its ’90s and ’00s-inspired croc bags and backless mules all over Instagram. Now the brand has collaborated with luxury resale platform Vestiaire Collective on a collection of six new handbags created using deadstock materials from the brand’s factory and pre-loved pieces from Vestiaire’s community. Not only is this a great example of circular design but all proceeds are going to Women for Women International.

As if we needed another excuse to buy more loungewear, cult Danish label Ganni has launched an exclusive capsule of pyjamas at Browns. The collection of six sets features blue and yellow striped cotton smock tops and frilled trousers, floral shorts and luxuriously soft cardigans. The beauty of each piece is that, beyond your bedroom, you can style it with denim, rollnecks, sandals and gold jewellery at any time of year.

We’ve long been fans of cult Japanese brand Suicoke (we’re still dreaming of its collaboration with A.P.C.) and its new team-up with another of our favourite labels, Aries, is top of our Christmas wish list. The cosy-as-they-come furry boot, available in three colourways – red, khaki and black – is officially the only thing you’ll find on our feet until New Year’s Eve.

With fans including Brittany Bathgate and Camille Charrière, Vince, California’s coolest export, is our go-to for silk slip dresses and cashmere cardigans. Now tackling social distancing measures by offering virtual appointments at its Draycott Avenue store – its first European retail space – customers can have 1-2-1 personal shopping via video, with same and next-day delivery and kerbside pick-up. Perfect for anyone tired of online shopping but uncomfortable with or unable to reach IRL stores.

If you ever saw someone sporting an enviable top-handled, exposed-stitch satchel at school, it was likely from The Cambridge Satchel Company. This November, the preppy label is back on our radars, teaming up with Japanese fashion house Comme des Garçons GIRL on a range of new micro bags. Dubbed ‘The Mini’, the cross-body design is available in three classic colours and even converts to a top handle tote for a night out on the town (you know, whenever we get one of those again.)
Comme des Garçons GIRL x The Cambridge Satchel Company is available here and here now.
